We're pleased to announce some details about Mustangs On The Mississippi, our inaugural three day "Destination Event" coming up next year.

Mustangs On The Mississippi is a brand new regional event that we are sure will become a yearly destination for Mustang enthusiasts! The Northern Star Mustang Club is hosting this family friendly three-day event at the beautiful Treasure Island Resort and Casino in Welch, Minnesota, situated alongside the mighty Mississippi River! There is not a better location for three days of cruising through great scenery, visiting regional attractions and checking out some of the greatest Mustangs in the Upper Midwest! As an added bonus we’ve timed our event so that you can attend our Minnesota State Fair, one of the nation’s largest and best celebrations. Take advantage of the opportunity to attend before or after the Mustangs On The Mississippi. “The Great Minnesota Get-Together” runs from August 26 through Labor Day, September 6th and welcomes over two million visitors annually.

Festivities begin at noon on Friday with 18 holes of golf at Mount Frontenac Golf Course, a stunning course that overlooks the beautiful Mississippi River bluffs and Lake Pepin. Surrounded by mature trees, rolling terrain and excellent scenery, this is a challenging golf course with spectacular views. All this for $40 which includes golf, a cart, and lunch!

Friday afternoon presents the perfect time to explore the beautiful Mississippi River bluffs as you cruise with your fellow Mustangers. This cruise will take you through some of the most scenic areas of the surrounding countryside, make a few stops for picture taking, and winding back along the river to the resort where you can prepare for the evening’s festivities. There is no charge for this event, but reservations are required.

Friday evening provides an opportunity for you to meet other event attendees at our after-dinner mixer. This free event (reservations are required), will be held in a private meeting area inside the resort near their modern bowling alley, giving you ample opportunity to grab some snacks and then try your hand at 10-Pins. There will be a slight charge for bowling.

After a night of fun with your fellow enthusiasts, Saturday kicks off with a Poker Chip run along the Mississippi River bluffs. You’ll be given a Route Card and instructions to take you on a no-rush tour of the area with multiple stops where you’ll collect poker chips for points towards some fantastic prizes. Along the way there’ll even be a couple of surprise opportunities to score some cool local items! You can purchase up to five Route Cards per person for five entries to win.

Mid-day Saturday is the start of the anchor activity of our three-day event, the MOTM Car Show which is already drawing interest from around the Upper Midwest. There will be multiple trophies given by our host and sponsors, celebrity favorites, and for some fun categories along the way. We will have Kid’s and Spectator’s choice awards, a live DJ rocking throughout the show, and there will be food available on the grounds as well as inside the resort. This is one show you won’t want to miss!

Join up to 100 of your fellow event attendees on a two-and-a-half-hour dinner cruise on the beautiful Spirit of The Water riverboat on Saturday evening. It’s a unique opportunity to see the Mississippi River bluff area in a way that’s only possible by boat. Enjoy a fantastic dinner, a chance to talk with other Mustang enthusiasts, and relax as you float along the Mighty Mississippi! Space is very limited, so don’t delay registering!

As we wrap up our three days together, we’ll have a Sunday morning group breakfast with a special speaker. This is going to be one that you don’t want to miss as we’ll be talking about Mustangs as well as enjoying a delicious meal. There will be ample opportunity to also talk with some of the locals about our Minnesota State Fair if you are going to attend it while you are with us.

Our time concludes Sunday morning with a cruise south along the river for anyone wanting one more view of the magnificent surrounding scenery. We will have an optional stop at the University of Minnesota’s Raptor Center to check out the incredible birds of prey. There is an additional charge for the Raptor Center visit.
